“give them hell for me”
The Air Force will honor the Doolittle Raiders with special uniforms, paying tribute to their daring WWII mission led by Lt. Col. James H. Doolittle, which struck Tokyo and Japanese military locations in response to the Pearl Harbor attack.
The commemorative jerseys have been carefully designed to honor the indomitable spirit of the Doolittle Raiders. These uniforms include striking details like letters and numbers resembling brushed steel and rivets, reminiscent of the B-25 aircraft flown by the Raiders during their historic mission.
The helmets feature decals to honor the USS Hornet, from which the Doolittle Raiders launched their historic mission. Additionally, decals on the back and left sides of the helmets will display the squadron patches of the Raiders, symbolizing the unity and bravery of these remarkable individuals.
The Raiders’ mantra, “Ever into peril,” is displayed on the right side of the pants, while the French equivalent, “Toujours au danger,” is on the left leg, serving as a reminder of their courage and determination in the face of danger.
The jersey features tail numbers of the Raiders’ bombers, the left sleeve displays their squadron patch, the right sleeve shows a 48-star flag representing 1942 states, and the back nameplate reads “Doolittle Raiders.”
